What Does WWPAW Do?

All of our funding comes from direct donations or from fund raising done on our behalf by Wingham Wildlife Park, so “what do we actually do?” is a very fair question.

We are a relatively small charity but have an ever increasing number of projects which we are supporting with your help.  As time progresses and we are able to dedicate more time and resources to these projects, we hope that not only will these projects get bigger and more successful but also that we are able to support and / or start other projects around the world.  As per our charity memorandum our charitable objects are:

  • to relieve the suffering of animals in need of care and attention
  • to provide and maintain facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals
  • to conserve the earth’s natural resources, through projects and initiatives dealing with the preservation and protection of living animals and their habitats
  • to educate the public in a formal and informal manner, through educational programmes raising awareness and respect of animals and nature.

These are very important ways for us to both conserve and help individual animals as well as entire species or habitats depending on the circumstance and level of support we are able to give.  To show you how we are currently trying to meet these objects please take a better look at our projects below:
