Becoming a keeper for a day allows people to experience a day in the life of one of our wonderful team members, and get a feel for what it means to work here at Wingham Wildlife Park.
The key highlight for most of our guests is meeting our incredible animals up close. Not only do you get to help out with the feeding, resulting in lots of happy furry faces, but you’ll also get involved with the cleaning; getting a bit dirty is part of the fun!
Throughout the different elements of the day you will learn lots of amazing things about the wonderful creatures that inhabit our park, with insight and wisdom coming direct from the people that see them the most – our keepers.
Once you’ve spent the morning working up an appetite with our furry friends, our keepers for the day get to refuel and recharge over a hearty cooked lunch, before it’s back out into the park for more incredible animal encounters. Our park plays host to an incredible array of different animals, and through this experience we will try to ensure that you meet as many as possible. From Wallabies, Deer and Ring Tailed Lemurs, to our Pheasants, porcupines and critically endangered Visayan Warty Pigs there are plenty of cute critters for you to get acquainted with.
Unfortunately, this experience does not include access to Meerkats, Penguins, Reptiles, Tigers and category 1 primates such as Gibbons and Macaques, although you can still catch a glimpse of them thanks to the park access you get included!
Finally, to round off the day perfectly, you will receive a special commemorative certificate as a memento of your experience as a keeper for the day at Wingham Wildlife Park.
You can book our keeper for a day experience for any day of the week – with children also able to become a keeper for the day, but this is restricted to school holidays and weekends. The day runs from 10:00 – 14:30 – although don’t forget you will receive entry to the park as part of your experience, so there’s no need to leave straight away!
You can purchase your experience online by clicking here (the link will open in a new tab, where you will be taken to an external website).
