Crested Beauty – A Night for Vietnam’s Pheasants
21st August, 18:30pm-21:30pm

Our popular Crested Beauty – A Night for Vietnam’s Pheasants is back in 2026!
Join us after hours to experience an incredible evening of delicious food, wonderful animals and exciting entertainment for all the family and all to support a great cause!
We’re teaming up with our amazing charity Protecting the Wild to raise funds for our conservation project in Vietnam, run in partnership with Viet Nature, helping protect the critically endangered Vietnamese Crested Argus. In protecting this special bird we are also able to monitor other endangered species and help future-proof the release of the critically endangered Vietnam Pheasant too (a species you many be familiar with visiting in our Tropical House)!
On the evening you can expect:
- An incredible stilt walker
- Vietnamese food
- Face painting
- Seeing our animals at twilight
- Traditional lion dancers
- Henna artists
PLUS, for the very first time, you’ll have access to Haggis’s outdoor enclosure!
As part of this event, you’ll be able to stroll along specially roped pathways leading from our newly opened expansion to Haggis’s brand-new outdoor habitat. If she’s outside, you’ll have the chance to see our popular pygmy hippo enjoying her new home for yourself.
Please bear in mind that this area is still under development, so there isn’t anything else to see along the route just yet. Haggis’ pool is deep enough for her to submerge in so if she is in there you may need to wait for her to resurface before spotting her.
As Haggis has access to both her indoor and outdoor spaces, we can’t guarantee she’ll be outside when you visit.
Even so, this is an exciting opportunity to be among the very first visitors to explore this new area and catch a glimpse of Haggis’s outdoor habitat. As a naturally nocturnal animal, she can be more active later in the day, so if you’re lucky, this could even be your very first chance to see her outside.
Don’t miss out on this exclusive event, with special discounts for members- AVAILABLE NOW!
