My name is Lewis Cannon.

I’m here to do my last write up. I visited in the October half term.

First we went to eat our picnic by the Arctic Wolves. The Wolves were walking up and down, with their noses up inthe air, I think they could smell my lunch. In the water in the Wolves enclosure there was a turtle, it climbed up onto a fallen tree.

Then we saw the Pelicans, one of them was splashing it’s wings in the water and getting another one wet, the one that was getting wet moved away flapping it’s wings, we laughed.

There was a Red Panda talk and we learned a lot of cool facts about the Red Pandas life. The female Red Panda had a new boyfriend and WWP are hoping for them to mate.

The Bats in the Bird House are gone, more building is happening in that part.

The Reptile House is still not finished but since this is my last article as Junior Journalist, I will sadly not get to write about the Reptiles.

We then saw Mali the Monkey and there were more young ones in that enclosure,  so cute!

One of the Orangutans was clinging to its rope while it was eating, not wishing to let go of the rope.

We heard the Lion roar loudly, we went to see them but they had stopped. One of the Lions was poorly, so sad! I hope he gets well soon!

I went to see the Tigers, they were rubbing themselves up against the bars. We purred and puffed to them, puffing is how Tiger’s say hello, sometimes they puff back at us when we do this.

We went to the Chimpanzees enclosure, upstairs we saw the little Armadillo scurrying around very fast, we nicknamed him Mario Kart.

Elizabeth the youngest Chimp was monkeying around the upstairs window. She swung around in front of us and let go with one hand!

It’s been so much fun being Junior Journalist at Wingham Wildlife Park! I’d love to work here one day and I’m looking forward to coming back soon!

This is Lewis Cannon, signing off for the last time!
