GUESS WHO

So this week is going to be a fun one. I’m going to think of 3 animals and give you 5 interesting facts about them. It may not necessarily be here at the park but can you guess who they are?

What am I

  • Most people think I am in the same family as dogs and wolves but I’m actually in a family all on my own.
  • I may come from Africa or Asia.
  • I have no fixed breeding season and I can have anywhere from 1 to 6 infants.
  • I’m a good hunter but I am not averse to scavenging on kills made by others either. In fact I am very well known for it.
  • I make a wide variety of noises including one which famously sounds like laughter.

What am I

  • I live in the ocean.
  • I do not have bones, instead my skeleton is made up of cartilaginous tissue. This makes me very light and flexible.
  • I’m a strict carnivore but I have been known to swallow all sorts of random objects I find.
  • I have a special organ, located around my eyes, nose and mouth which picks up on electrical fields. I use this to navigate my surroundings and to find prey.
  • Unfortunately, I often play the villain in films.

What am I

  • I am stronger than a human.
  • I am very gentle but often portrayed as ferocious in films.
  • My babies have a little white spot on their rump until they are around 3 years of age.
  • I am vegetarian but many people think I eat meat.
  • I sleep in nests, females are usually off the ground but males are often on the ground.
