For guests who have sensory processing needs:
Wingham Wildlife Park has partnered with KultureCity to improve our ability to assist and accommodate guests with sensory needs. Our objective is to provide an inclusive and seamless experience for all guests including those with sensory needs. We strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing disorders by supplying our team members with continuous training and by offering the resources and accommodations below to our guests.
Sensory Bags
Sensory bags contain special KultureCity VIP badges, fidget tools and noise cancelling headphones amongst other resources. Sensory bags are available at Reception as you enter the park at NO COST. However, to ensure these items are safely returned to our team we will ask that you simply fill out a form and leave a form of ID until the bag is returned to us at the end of your visit. This will ensure that the bags can be reused by any other visitors in the future who may also want/need them. These are accessed on a first come, first serve basis only.
Weighted Lap Pad
A weighted lap pad is also available from our Reception/ Gift Shop upon request under the same conditions as above (leaving ID and filling out a form). Again, accessed on a first come, first serve basis only.
Sign posted Headphone Zones and Quiet Zones
We have signposted areas around the park in which you may need to wear headphones as they can be a little noisier, such as in our Chimpanzee House and around our parrots.
We have also established the area between the Moon Bears and Rainforest SOS as a Quiet Zone. So, if you are feeling over stimulated you can head to this sign posted area and use it for as long as you require.
