The FSC- Forest Stewardship Council is an international organisation which promotes the responsible management of forests around the world. They allow consumers to identify products from responsibly managed forests and recycling with their global certification, the tick tree logo.
They show that well managed, sustainable forestry is possible. Planting seedlings after felling a tree is a system which allows forests to survive and regrow also taking care to ensure the safety of the wildlife which inhabits it.
By looking out for the FSC logo when shopping you can easily support Sustainable forestry yourself. This is particularly important to us at Wingham Wildlife Park and as such we only use FSC certified products across the whole park from the paper we use in the office to the wood used in our exhibits.
