Orange-headed Thrush Natural History
Size
The orange-headed thrush is 20–24cm long and weighs 47–60g.
Habitat and Distribution
These birds inhabit subtropical lowlands in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Diet
They are omnivores, feeding largely on insects but also consume fruits and seeds.
Groups and Breeding
These birds don’t form flocks.
Threats
Due to their large range and healthy population these birds are listed as Least Concern.
Interesting Facts
Males and females are both greyish but females have brownish-coloured heads while males have an orange head.

The Orange-headed Thrushes at Wingham Wildlife Park can be found in the Tropical House. We have a male and female and they live alongside a number of other species including rainbow lorikeets and Vietnam pheasants.
