So today I’d like to talk about our three little bears. Aroon, Mika and of course Baloo. On the 29th January, it was a big day for us on the carnivore team as our little, not so little bear cub turned 2. Looking at him now it’s amazing to think how tiny he was when he was born. I thought I’d kick things off with a reminder of how tiny our little man was!

Growing up

Our lovely Mika was gentle as anything with her precious little bundle. She proved to be the best mum even though it was her first time. The proof is Baloo who is now bigger than his mum. Dad, Aroon has also played a role. Even though he is separated by a fence, he greets both of them every morning through the mesh tunnel which is always greatly received.

The Party

We decided to celebrate the occasion with a party and of course all the bears were invited. It was a joint affair with Mika as her birthday is the 1st February. Aroon had his present on his time and all of them were well entertained for a long time.

We had a theme for the party which was puzzles as that day was also National Puzzle Day. I’d even say they admired the painted puzzle pieces on the sides of their boxes. Albeit for only a brief moment as you cannot hide food from a bear for very long.

All-in-all it was good fun for everyone involved and even though the bears are still very lazy at the moment they spent a long time outside enjoying each surprise that awaited them. On top of their usual fruit and veg they also had some peanut butter spread around their platforms, one of their favourites!

An extra special treat for them this time were some whole sugar canes. These took them a long time to enjoy and we even put them in their house for them to have overnight.

The bear celebrations are not complete yet though as it won’t be long before it’s our Aroon’s birthday on the 18th February (check his previous celebrations here). So, we are already planning another party. The theme has not yet been decided but will have to be something special. I don’t think any of them will mind a second party especially with the novel food items attached.

We have lots of birthdays to plan for so don’t be surprised if on your next visit to us there’s a bit of wrapping paper around. They really do enjoy opening them!
