Gray Cheeked Hornbill at Wingham Wildlife Park


This bird reaches lengths of around 70 cm.

Habitat and Distribution

Forests and savannahs make up this birds habitat along equatorial Central and Western Africa.


This bird can live for just over 30 years.


The majority of their diet is made up of fruits (especially figs) and insects, however they will also readily feed on small animals living around trees.

Groups and Breeding

During the breeding season the female will generally lay 2 eggs.
